Redwing Simulations NH90 Teaser

Post by (A/229) Chuck on Sun 7 Feb 2016 - 10:00

From their facebook:

"Hello folks, since a lot of you send us private message to know the state of the NH90 project, instead of putting a long update text we have decide to show you a very small video about our current project progress. Remember all things in the video are work in progress and may change in the future and does not represent the final product."

Thank god it is DCS, the aircraft might be worth something unlike the real world NH-90 which is one of the worst helicopter ever built.  A lot of countries have been having trouble with them, even after 20+ years of development.  It will go great with the Tiger which is also a 20+ year POS.

I am always weary of these modules of military aircraft which have just entered military service. It goes without saying that many aspects of the aircraft are classified, which means the developers will most likely have to ‘guesstimate’ considerably parts of the SM and FM.

That said if they do a good enough job of it, I’d still consider purchasing it because it is now part of the inventory of the RAN and the Australian Army.

This is the only thing I'm worried about, it being guesstimated. We'll see how it flies, pretty sure a buy for me Wink

Looks much better than the teaser we have seen, I hope they can put that much detail in the flying module Smile

Q&A from their Fb page:
Hello Silver_Dragon, i'll try to answer to your question in order.

- The Tiger helos has part of your project or has a MOD to video propose?

Yes, the Tiger in the video was moded for video purpose, i think there is someone else working on this project.

- Can put more info about your project on DCS: World forum?

Yes, we will do it soon as possible, we just want to make the things in order, with an official ed forum account and some more others things.

- Your video show some ASW hunting capability on NH-90 NFH version, but, red wing has capability to make sonar / sonobouys / MAD / ESM, console functional into DCS: W?, has ground radar technology to sea operations?

We will try to push the system of the chopper closer as possible to the real one. That why ASW feature are in our plan, and we really want to have this feature in the simulator as well, it can open a lot of new doors. This feature will come in a second time in the developpement progress of our chopper

- Expected see on-board multi-crew defensive machine gun pilot-able ?

We think that this feature will became very standard to each actual DCS module in the future, so yes when we get a little more deep in the project with the right persons and the right tools, we will of course work on this feature.

- Has the personal sling show in the video functional to rescue operations?

At first same as the Tiger it's made for video purpose, but make this options in the simulator can open doors for tons of new combat/rescue scenario.

For the moment the most important informations that you need to know and each guys who are interested by our project is that we are working alone in our own side without external help, and now we start to be stuck and we aim to became third party developer as soon as possible to keep working on the project, but for that we have to prove to ED that we are able to take a project like that.

I hope I've answered correctly to your questions.

Regards,

RWS
