Your tips on the Gazelle

Post by (A/229) Chuck on Fri 6 May 2016 - 15:42

Hi everyone!

As some of you may have guessed already, I am hammering out a guide for the Gazelle. I'm slowly learning how to fly it on my own, but I do not want to provide (something that hardly qualifies as) "advice" that is wrong or incorrect. Since many of you are real life helicopter pilots, I was wondering if there are a couple of tips and tricks that you have for the Gazelle, whether it is based on your real life flying experience or just by flying the DCS Gazelle for a good amount of hours.

Thanks in advance,

Chuck

I'm going to suggest that a "wait & see" period appears before you get too wrapped up  in the "guide"...

.... reason being  it's only been out for weeeeeek (maybe just a bit longer) and as you have probably found out...  it's like a 5year old on crack with some adjustments needed.

Some of us have experimented with:

"Y" saturation points are as low as 40....high as 100.

Curvatures (in game...not hers ) are dependent of the Joy stick/equipment.. but High on some... low on others

If you have some time in the SAS342, you'll see that these above Numbers change as your experience goes up.. which means they are forever changing.

So in  short.... We'll let ya know when the group comes to a consensuses.

I don't want to put you off Chuck......( I'm just one gang member here--  others will chime in I presume)  but it's just too young to give it a rightful place of " "Done or finished".

by the way... I'm 90 minutes from Old Montreal

I think most of the instruments and systems work correct, so that could be written out. Trim/AP needs to be changed together with some parts of the flightmodel. After the 153 release you can expect them to work on it. Rest of the stuff depends on what you want to cover in the manual.

Anyone having issues installing the Gazelle in the beta:
open up DCS World / Bin
Left Shift and Right click in the folder (not any file) and select "open command prompt here"
Paste this into the command prompt -
DCS_Updater.exe install POLYCHOPSIM_SA342
and hit enter to install

Chuck, you'll find some answers here, that is if you have not already read it...
