SO it took all night to get the patch at 200 Kb/s and now my instal is screwed due to disabling the TF 51 module, turns out this contains core files that break this new version. WTF did they not post the problem before releasing the patch. Evil or Very Mad
Now i have to revert to 1.5.4 another 4+gb s to download and then after re-enabling the TF51 will have to redo the update to 1.5.5
Fuckin ED No

I was getting a weird shimmer along all 3d models when I flew last night, along with it being in menu as well. Not sure what it was, but I only can confirm it was visible in the rift and gave me some seriously nasty framerates.

I got mine to work. I renamed config folder. It all seems a lot snappier in the gui and looks pretty on the mp server screen
Oh and the range targets are visible through the body of the huey doh

I can understand your concern, but then what will be the Battalion's unified state of update, regarding multiplayer compatibility. Or isn't it what "Network protocol incompatibility" between 1.5.4 and 1.5.5 means? Just asking...

Doesnt mean anything other than he will only be able to join servers that are running 1.5.4 rather than 1.5.5. I dont much care for this update either; its too glitchy in the rift at the moment.

Blade FWIW I think the update is very good, everything is much cripser in the GUI and the fps is better IMO
Also you need it for Thursday if your flying with us Smile

New update to 1.5.5 coming, includes Mi-8 doorgunners

I have been waiting years for door guns!  Guess I can wait 6 more months.  This aircraft will be a lot better at assaults and should be able to hold its own a little better. The .50s in the doors is going to be nice.

Cib, you can use Nvidia Shadowplay to record rather than some free tool that watermarks your stuff..

Hi mate, I use shadowplay to record but editing and converting I have to use that freeware shit. 5 mins of shadowplay is like 2+GB size
Going to try this though, free and has good write up

Thanks for the video. Have you guys. Een able to remove the clamshell doors as shown in the screen shots? Also is anyone intresting in updating our mi8 skins so the back crew uniforms are matching the front crew? I am mainly talking about the us army skins we have. Does the whole crew use the same uniform file? If so disregard.

It seems to be one model for the gunners, regardless of which country is chosen. Also it appears you cannot have clam shell doors removed and still have door gunner which is a shame.It looks cool without the doors but I won't be flying without my doorgunner anymore Smile

Removing the back door limits you to 108 KIAS or 200 KPH as well. But it would fit in better for our fast rope missions and other special insertions missions. Sucks loosing the gunner. Missions like "Vegas raid" would be perfect with no back doors and one less gunner. Do you pull the doors off in mission editor or in the rearm screen in game?

You have to use mission editor, just a check box like there is for additional armor and IR suppressors

Since last update, 16.12.2016, CTLD isn't working due to the fact DCS isn't adding the needed F10-option anymore. Recommend to roll-back the server until the issue is fixed.
