Joint Ops contact

Post by [355th] Pono on Wed 23 Nov 2016 - 11:34

Good evening,
I am the Op's guy over at the 355th and just wanted to touch base and see who I might talk to concerning Joint-Ops. I'm not sure if that's something you guys do, but we run a lot of Op's that support CSAR/CA/CTLD but we don't have a large Rotary division. Thanks for your time

Hi Pono,
we ran a joint op with the 132nd a while ago which was great though challenging and the pilots that took part all fancied something similar.
In the first instance perhaps we could have a chat on TS about how we can best organise something. What time zone are you flying in? We have 3 companies from Australasia, North America and Europe. I am pretty sure there will be 229th members keen to be involved. We have recently had a large influx of fixed wing guys to supplement our CAS and CAP capabilities, would it be possible to have some fixed wing slots available for them too?
It will be nice to hear your thoughts

Best wishes
Cib

Hi Cib,
I'd be happy to met up with you on TS and discuss this further. We are primarily a North American squad, though we do have a handful of members out in the EU. For larger operation's we do our best to plan a day and time to accommodate both. We also have run multi day PVP events that allow all time zones to be involved.

When is a good time to catch up on TS? The next few days are a bit crazy with the holiday, but I should be around in the evenings (Eastern US timezone). Thank you for your time and happy holidays if you do the Thanksgiving thing.

No worries at all, I just wanted to follow up to make sure I wasn't chasing a dead topic. Is your TS info public? Or would you prefer to send me a DM?. I'm -5 GMT, so perhaps Thursday would be the best day to catch up.

Thanks,

Pono

Hi Pono,
I replied to your PM but I think my PM system is full or something. We are definitely up for some joint ops. Next time I can guarantee to be on TS is early Thursday evening. Can we meet up then?

Cheers Cib

Cib,
Not sure if you got my PM on here, I have a few questions regarding mission setup for you. I can ask here in the post or I can catch up in TS if you'd like. I need to do a full rebuild of the mission to accommodate the Viggen release since it tends to bust the resource tables. Let me know where the best place to catch up with you is when you can.

Thanks
Pono

Hi mate, I am busy deleting PM's as my whole PM system seems full. RE Viggen don't go to any trouble. We can utilise whatever. There are not as many people signing up as I would have hoped and it may be worthwhile having a discussion about postponement. I will be kneedeep in sheep by the end of February

No worries, as for folks signing up you can make the call for your side. I will say in the past at least in our case, these events tend to draw folks who didn't sign up once they see what is going on. That is also the reason we restrict airspace on day one, people seem to want to fly once they hear the home team needs help. Since you guys are hosting you can make the final call, but we are fine showing up and seeing what happens.

Let me know what you think when you have a chance, these are the airframes I'm gong to include default. As we mentioned before anything you'd rather have or don't need just let me know. One side will have USAF aggressors so this won't be restricted by NATO/WARSAW PACT

Airframes
F-15C or requested FC3 airframe
A-10C
F-5E
M-2000C
SU-25T (required for SEAD)

UH-1
MI-8
KA-50
Combined Arms (required)

C-130/IL-86 MOD or F-86/MIG-15 for fixed wing transport (optional)
Viggen if released Stable by this Friday.
