355th_Gunfighter sends!

Post by (A/229) Shooter on Tue 21 Mar 2017 - 12:49

I wanted to hop in here and say thank you. I have been flying Huey now almost exclusively since the beginning of December and have been active on the ED forums pertaining to this module quite a bit asking questions and posting things I have learned along the way that might help new Huey aviators out......but as pointed out again the other night I am no expert and won't be for some time.

The current topic for me was autorotations, and I had posted some incorrect information, and a pilot from the 229th, Gizzy, was helpful and corrected me, and when I asked for any and all information I could get my hands on he sent me a PM with some helpful manuals and documents. D Coy also invited me to come check you guys out, but I have been on this site before; a month ago I registered here when you guys were flying vs the 355th of which I am a member of.

When I joined the 355th it was because a dear friend who served with me in WA was part of that unit. I am a warbird junkie and am not wired for all of the memorization that goes with learning all of the fancy jets in DCS, and I had been playing Arma 3 as a helicopter "pilots for about two years, and both of my stepdads served in Vietnam flying Hueys, so naturally I gravitated more to Huey than anything else. When I expressed that my friend passed me along to Oghr and he taught me how to fly the Huey. Oghr also spoke of you guys often and with nothing but praise, and I was fortunate to have him as an instructor.

You guys are HUGE in the Huey community, and so far the people I have run into that have had anything to do with the 229th have reflected positively on your unit. I would like to express my thanks for being such a stand up group of Huey aviators.
